MOVED: 2021 JLA AGM to Sep 15

JLA AGM Update (2021 Sep 10):
The recent disorder on the JLA Board has prompted the Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations (FOCA), our umbrella organization, to withdraw their participation from the Sept 15th AGM. Their participation includes important technical support, including ballot voting/tabulation, without which it is not possible to hold a remote meeting. Our members are top of mind and we will be sure to update you with alternative arrangements as soon possible.----------------------
Dear Lakers ....
We hope you are all enjoying the end of the season on the lake .... what a glorious few days we've had, just in time for our American friends' return.
There has been a decision to postpone this year’s virtual JLA Annual General Meeting to Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m as a result of a few unforeseen circumstances:
- Some feedback we’ve received is that a number of people do not have internet, or reliable internet, at their cottages. They would prefer to take part in the meeting from their homes where there is better internet once things are back in swing in the fall.
- Jim Martin, the Mayor of HBM, nor his deputy, are available to participate on the original date of August 26. In addition, our Nominating Committee Chair, Charlie Coffey is also unavailable on that date. We feel it is important that all these folks can participate as part of the agenda.
Our goal is to be able to accommodate as many people as possible and to maximize participation in this informative meeting. Our apologies for any inconvenience, but hopefully this new date will work better for everyone.
