Thank You Mayors

Saturday March 12, 2022

On Saturday, March 5 at 9:30 a.m. JLA President Alex Kostiw hosted JLA CONNECTS Webinar Session #2, "MEET THE MAYORS”. Jack Lake’s two mayors, Carolyn Amyotte, Mayor of North Kawartha Township, and Jim Martin, Mayor of Havelock Belmont Methuen Township, provided summaries of their 2021 accomplishments and presented highlights of plans for 2022. An active Q & A session followed their presentations.

All lakers were invited to join this important webinar and prepare thoughtful questions for the mayors.

All property owners – including cottagers – have a vote in the upcoming municipal election on October 24. This webinar provided a chance to hear from the two leaders who play a key role in working on the challenges and opportunities in our community.

To ensure an exciting session, questions were sent in advance to the mayors for their prepared responses. Thank you for the excellent questions many of you provided! There was also a live open question period.

Close to 70 viewers joined this engaging and informative event!

Thank you, Mayor Amyotte and Mayor Martin, for this opportunity! Thank you, Alex Kostiw, for hosting and arranging. Thanks also to JLA Executive Secretary Colleen Pickthall for hosting the Q & A, JLA VP Pat Phillips for coordinating the advance questions, and JLA Technology Director Andrew Semple for running the show!

JLA members can view the recorded webinar at their leisure. Visit the "Member Content” page on the JLA website and log in on the JLA Connects Webinars page.
