Update from the 2021-2022 JLA Board of Directors

Thursday October 28, 2021

Greetings JLA Members!

In the spirit of improved communications with our Members, we wanted to update you on our first Board meeting held yesterday evening.

Very professionally facilitated by Caretaker, Karen Sjolin, the meeting took the form of a 'meet and greet' where we were able to introduce ourselves and share perspectives on our priorities as Board members.  Though coming from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets, we all agreed on some fundamentals that should guide us into the future as a Board including transparency, Board solidarity, collegiality, accountability, integrity, truthfulness, collaboration and inclusivity.

We also elected 2 Executive members; Colleen Pickthall as Board Secretary and Amanda Gray as Treasurer.  If you have any questions for Colleen or Amanda, you can reach them at Colleen.Pickthall@gmail.com and Jackslakelodge@hotmail.com, respectively.

The meeting was very positive and having gained some good momentum, we scheduled our second meeting for November 10th when we hope to deal with some important operational and housekeeping matters.

One of the areas that we recognize requires attention is Communications, and in particular, the quality and frequency of Member eBlasts.  Our Membership list needs updating and it would help us a lot if you could please ensure that we have your most current contact information. Kindly log in to the JLA Website at https://www.jackslakeassociation.ca to ensure your member account details are up to date.   Also, click on the Subscribe to Email Updates link on the website to receive JLA eBlasts.

Until next time.

Your 2021/2022 Board of Directors
